The best face serum in Bangladesh is whichever one matches your concern, because a serum is really just a delivery system for one active ingredient. Orpa stocks 80 of them today, from ৳130 to ৳2,340, and the useful band starts around ৳585. Pick the active first, the brand second.
Below are ten worth comparing, sorted by what they are actually for, plus the two rules that decide whether a serum works: how many you layer, and how long you give it.

Pick the active, not the bottle
- Oily skin, large pores, post-acne marks — niacinamide. The Derma Co 10% at ৳585 for a first try, The Ordinary 10% + Zinc at ৳1,090 for a full 30 ml.
- Blackheads and breakouts — salicylic acid. The Derma Co 2% at ৳990.
- Dullness and uneven tone — vitamin C, in the morning. The Derma Co 10% at ৳990 is the value pick.
- Dark spots and pigmentation — kojic acid, alpha arbutin or tranexamic acid. Dr. Sheth’s Kesar & Kojic at ৳1,250, or Anua Niacinamide + TXA at ৳1,790 from the Korean shelf.
- Fine lines and texture — retinol, at night. Minimalist 0.3% at ৳1,190 to start.
- Dehydrated, tight skin — hyaluronic acid. The Ordinary HA 2% + B5 at ৳1,090, applied to damp skin.
A higher percentage is not a better serum
This is where most money gets wasted. Minimalist’s 16% vitamin C at ৳1,140 is not “better” than a 10% for someone new to it; it is stronger, which for sensitive skin means more stinging and a higher chance of giving up in week two. The same goes for retinol: 0.3% is where to start, and the 0.6% version exists for people who have already tolerated the lower one for months.
Niacinamide is the clearest example. Above roughly 10%, the evidence for extra benefit thins out while irritation reports go up. A 12% or 15% serum is a marketing number more than a skincare one.
The ৳130 serums, honestly
Orpa stocks Laikou serums at ৳130 to ৳190 for 17 ml, and they are the cheapest things in the category by a distance. The hyaluronic acid one at ৳130 is pleasant, lightly fragranced and hydrating.
What it is not is a treatment serum with a stated active percentage. If your goal is a nice texture under moisturizer, it does that. If your goal is fading dark spots or clearing acne, spend the ৳585 instead and get a percentage printed on the box.
What not to layer
- Retinol and exfoliating acids on the same night. Alternate nights instead. This is the single most common cause of a wrecked barrier.
- Vitamin C and retinol together. Vitamin C in the morning, retinol at night.
- Three actives at once. A niacinamide serum, a salicylic wash and an acid toner is two too many. Add one product at a time, two weeks apart.
- Retinol without sunscreen. It makes skin more sun-sensitive, and sun undoes the pigmentation work you are paying for. The sunscreen guide covers what is in stock.
How to use a serum
- Order: cleanse, serum, moisturizer, then sunscreen in the morning.
- Three to four drops is enough for the whole face. Serums are concentrated; more is not faster.
- Apply to slightly damp skin, especially hyaluronic acid, which needs water to hold onto.
- Patch test on the jaw for two nights before putting a new active over your whole face.
- Give it eight to twelve weeks. Pigmentation and fine lines move on the skin’s timetable, not yours.
- Store vitamin C away from light and replace it if it turns dark orange or brown, which means it has oxidised and lost potency.
Korean serums and the top of the range
The Korean shelf sits mostly between ৳1,350 and ৳2,340: Beauty of Joseon, Anua, Numbuzin, Medicube and Some By Mi. They tend to be gentler, more heavily formulated around soothing ingredients, and larger at 30 to 50 ml. Some By Mi Retinol Intense at ৳2,340 is the most expensive serum in stock.
Whether that premium is worth it depends on skin sensitivity rather than results on paper: the Indian serums list higher active percentages for less money, and the Korean ones are usually easier to tolerate.
What serums cost in Bangladesh
Entry essences run ৳130 to ৳250. Trial sizes of real actives are ৳585 to ৳790 for 10 to 15 ml. Full-size Indian serums, which is where most people settle, are ৳990 to ৳1,490 for 30 ml. Korean serums run ৳1,350 to ৳2,340. Everything is imported and sold sealed, delivery is ৳70 inside Dhaka City in 1 to 3 days and ৳120 elsewhere in 2 to 4 days, and cash on delivery is available nationwide.
Signs it is working, and signs to stop
Two weeks in, a serum that suits you leaves skin looking slightly smoother and less shiny by the afternoon. That is the honest early signal. Pigmentation has not moved yet and will not for another month or two.
A little tingling for a minute after applying an acid or vitamin C is normal. Stinging that lasts, tightness, new flaking around the nose and mouth, or small bumps that were not there before are not a “purge”: they are irritation, and the fix is to stop the active for a week, use only a plain moisturizer, and restart every third night rather than daily.
Genuine purging, which happens with salicylic acid and retinol, looks like spots appearing faster in places you already break out, and it settles within four to six weeks. Spots in new areas are not purging. If you cannot tell which is happening, stopping for a week costs you nothing and answers the question.
Frequently asked questions
Which serum is best for dark spots in Bangladesh?
A pigment-focused active: kojic acid, alpha arbutin or tranexamic acid. Dr. Sheth’s Kesar & Kojic at ৳1,250 and Anua Niacinamide + TXA at ৳1,790 are the two in stock people buy for this. Daily sunscreen matters more than the serum itself.
Which serum is best for oily and acne-prone skin?
Niacinamide for oil and pores, salicylic acid for blackheads. The Derma Co 10% Niacinamide at ৳585 and 2% Salicylic at ৳990 cover both for under ৳1,600.
Can I use two serums together?
Two is manageable if they do not fight: niacinamide plus hyaluronic acid is fine. Vitamin C with retinol, or retinol with an acid, is not. Split them between morning and night.
How long does a serum take to work?
Oil control shows in two to three weeks. Pigmentation and fine lines need eight to twelve weeks of daily use. Anything promising a week is selling you hydration, which is real but temporary.
Is a 20% vitamin C serum better than 10%?
Not for most people. Higher concentrations sting more and oxidise faster without a proportional gain. Start at 10%, and only move up if your skin is comfortable.
Do I still need moisturizer if I use a serum?
Yes. A serum delivers actives; a moisturizer seals water in. Skipping the second step is why some people find serums drying.
What is the cheapest serum at Orpa?
Laikou at ৳130 for 17 ml, which is a light essence rather than a treatment. The cheapest serum with a stated active percentage is The Derma Co 10% Niacinamide at ৳585.
Are these serums original?
Yes. Orpa imports them in sealed manufacturer packaging with the original label and batch code intact, and cash on delivery is available anywhere in Bangladesh.
This guide is general information about products Orpa sells, not medical advice. Actives irritate some skin, retinol is not recommended in pregnancy, and persistent acne or melasma is worth taking to a dermatologist. Patch test anything new.
