What is the difference between an essence and an ampoule?
Concentration. Essences are light and hydrating; ampoules are stronger, targeted treatments closer to a serum.
Do I need both?
No. Many people use one. Oily skin often does well with just an essence; dry or dull skin benefits from adding an ampoule.
In what order do they go?
Toner, essence, ampoule or serum, moisturiser. Sunscreen is the final morning step.
Can I use an ampoule every day?
Hydrating ones, yes. Ampoules built around acids or retinol should start two or three nights a week.
Are Korean ampoules suitable for oily skin?
